Tables in Mimbo Pro

My first attempt at inserting an HTML table for tabular data into a post or page was an exercise in futility - simply didn't work. I then discovered that this wasn't a theme problem. The ability to insert tables was not available in the basic TinyMCE coded within a WordPress installation.

After a little research I found something that worked for me and that was to install the "TinyMCE Advanced" Ver.3.0.1 plugin from http://www.laptoptips.ca/projects/tinymce-advanced/

So far it has worked well along with the Mimbo Pro theme and with the latest WordPress installation.

There is an added bonus that I also appreciated: no more stripping out of paragraph tags if you switch back and forth between Visual and HTML views of the text editor.

That sounds pretty cool. I must admit I do everything in code view so am blissfully unaware of problems with the editor. Every now and then I will try the wysiwyg editor again, but it never lasts.

Yup - I'm comfortable with the code view too, but the problem arose when I was attempting to set the site up for contributors who weren't so comfortable with code. Now I can give them something to work with in wysiwig mode.
