Replace 'Recent Stories' with Page widget

Hi there,

I'd like to replace the recent stories on the top with pages.
It's just that I'd like the pages to go above the fold, and since recent stories appear in both the carousel and in the middle bottom section, it seems a little repetitive to have recent stories on the top.

also, if i'm able to get that accomplished, would it then be possible to have the 'pages' widget' removed from the homepage, yet appear in every part of the site.

If you open index.php, you should be able to delete the code within the "Recent Stories" box and replace with wp_list_pages.

thanks for the tip... it helped for sure, but i ended up doing a cheat and using simple

    one day this php will make sense in my mind....
