Making post 'sticky' breaks home page
|
Hey! I tried making a post sticky so it would stay in the main top-left container where the latest news generally goes. However this just breaks the container and the latest news post simply sits underneath the sticky post. How can I resolve this? See how it looks here: http://www.thewebeditor.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/sticky_post-adds_extrastory.jpg |

I tried looking at the jpg listed but it doesn't seem to exist. |

Thanks for flagging. Just migrated the site to a new URL. So the image is now at: http://www.rciventures.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/sticky_post-adds_extrastory.jpg |

To make posts appear in the carousel, you need to choose the correct category in the theme options panel. You could create a separate category called Featured, and add this category to "sticky" posts as well as their regular categories. |

Hey James. That's absolutely not the issue. I think you probably understand that I'm perfectly at home with the theme options panel! What I'm saying is when I try and make a post sticky - to occupy the main 'breaking news' pane top left, the latest post (if the sticky isn't the latest) sits under it, thus breaking the container and the page. See the screengrab! |

"All" you need to do is create a new category and select that as your Latest post as an act of making it sticky. You can also make it whatever real category you want, but it will only get replaced in the Latest area when you make a new post that uses the new category you create. I went wild and called mine "Featured" way back with Mimbo Pro 1.5 back in the day and that still works. |
