How do I add the favicons for the sites I'm aggregating?
|
I just purchased the accumulo theme and I'm wondering how do I insert the favicons of the sites I'm aggregating? Do I have to find the favicons, save them, then upload them on my host? What do I do? |

Hi - you can specify the favion url in the widget settings. Where you host them is entirely up to you - personally I don't think people would mind if you just linked to their favion but if youhave a very popular site it would probably be polite to ask first. On the demo site the icons are all the genuine favicons from the sites being aggregated. If you right click and view image properties you can see where they are stored. |

How do I find the favicon links of other sites when using firefox? When I right click on the favicon I get tab or toolbar settings. |

Generally you will find the favicon code in the It should look similar to this:
Sometimes, no reference is made to the favicon, in these cases you can usually find it by navigating to http://site.com/favicon.ico |

This is the easiest way to find FavIcons using Google: http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=mustech.net Change the domain after the "?domain=" to whatever domain you are looking for. Then right-click the tiny image that shows up and save it. After you have it, you can easily upload it to your Website and use your Accumulo Widget Link to point directly to it. I've done this with all of the favicons at http://musicednews.com as some of them were not showing up simply being pulled from the feeds. I also created a "dummy" favicon for those feeds/sites that don't have any so everything looks uniform. |

@pisanojm Great Tip! I will probably use that one myself. |

That's really clever. Going to add this as a default feature for the theme so you never need to include the url again! :) |
