[how to] Increase amount of posts in a catagory

Hi guys...cant seem to find the code i need to change from default display of 9 posts in a catagpry...want to increase this a little to say 15....

Do you mean on this pages like this? You can change that under Settings->Reading->Blog Pages Show at Most.

yes...thats wat i mean, thats set to show 4, the link u posted....but no matter what i set mine to...it wont display more than 9 for some reason...i can have it show 3 / 5 / 9 ...but no more....i actually have 10 posts at the moment and so at the bottom it shows the "More in this category" link...

In mine website I've got 11 post and the the others:

I made a small modify to the file category.php

Around row 50 in category.php, I change the number 3 with 10 (11 post hilighted instead of 4):

$image = get_post_image(70, 70); //Defines height and width

Thanks a lot...that did the trick for me.... :) weird though that the admin changes were being ignored when i increased it....

Odd, changing via control panel worked fine for me. I guess when in doubt, the template can be changed directly.

ok so...that fixed my initial problem...but now im looking to increase the number of "Recent Posts" that show in the right sidebar....can only get 11...wheres that one controlled ??

@ darren, wonder did i mess up a file somewhere that it no longer holds the settings from admin?

Do you mean the recent posts box on the homepage? That can be changed in index.php on line 53. (I'd make sure to duplicate index.php and stick it in your child theme)

Hi Darren,

sorry for the delayed response...

yes the recent posts on the homepage is what im after....however...if i change the setting u mentioned...it effects the TOP header section where it says Recent Stories and not the section to the right of the page where it says recent posts

whats the difference between recent stories and recent posts??
