Though I'm still new to MimboPro, I'd love to see Mimbo more as a 'framework' or Parent theme similar to ThemeHybrid, Thematic etc. I'm not suggesting yet another framework/middleware competitor, but expanding the possibilities of features and associated child themes. It should narrow the support down to child themes, function.php etc. Enable development focus on features, upgrades and so on. As a user one would maintain a lean engine (read: parent theme e.g. Mimbo Pro) and yet grant a lot of opportunities personalizing the front end. This is the very short and 'not well argumented for' version; however I see a lot more potential going forward. Mimbo Core |

Interesting you should mention it. Hopefully by the end of the month we're releasing a framework that we'll use as a base for all new projects. And we already have a good child theme candidate that will function very differently from most other themes out there. I'm excited to get it out there. |

Yeah, we could always re-release Mimbo Pro as a child theme of Elemental (the new framework), it would just take a little tinkering. |

You can read a little bit about Elemental, our new theme framework, here and Darren posted a small screenshot here I think a Mimbo Pro child theme is a possibility, but we will probably keep the existing Mimbo Pro as it is. |
