How do I do a clean replacement of the lead story section with the Featured Content Gallery plugin?

So far I've managed to make the plugin work but when the website is loading it displays a larger version of the image then it reposition the image to the correct width and height.

Another thing I deleted some of the code in the index.php which apparently caused the category names in the middle section to not show up.

Finally do I also need to edit the style.css? If so, which codes do I need to remove?

I'm looking for the same information. I'm using the plugin successfully with the non-Pro versions of Mimbo, but would like to use it on the site where we have the Pro version.
