Automatic lead paragraph width
|
Hi, I've been looking around the forum for an answer to this question. I couldn't find anything. - - - I was wondering: Something like : (Lead Box Width) - (Photo Width) = (Paragraph Width) I normally use big images that get cropped at 260px wide by Timthumb. But I sometimes have to use smaller images (200x200) for my articles. And sometimes I don't even have images to put with my article. But then, there is an empty area next to the paragraph in the Lead Box. Is there a way to fill this empty space by stretching the paragraph width ? Hope my question was clear |

Actually, it's already working with the 4 "recent" posts listed below the lead box : I tried uploading a very small image (smaller than the Timthumb size) and the paragraph was stretched to fit the column width. I'd like to achieve the same thing with the lead box. |

Hi - I'm afraid I am not entirely clear what you're asking for. Do you have a link to your site where you'd like this to happen? Could you give some simple diagrams showing what you want and where? |

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I have to admit that my question wasn't that clear. Unfortunately, my partner's dev website is protected by a password, but I quickly mocked up these images : -- Original -- Right now, this is what happens if there are no images in a post : -- What I would like to achieve Any ideas ? Suggestions ? |

is that even possible ? :( |

You could try removing the widths from "#home #lead .left" and "#home #lead .right" in home.css. |

Thanks a lot Darren! I tried it yesterday. It does work, the paragraph is as wide as the lead box... but only when there are no photo in the article. If the article has a photo, the paragraph is still full width, placed under de photo. And this site will have both : articles with and without photos. Is there a way to calculate the width of the paragraph, considering the width of the photo ? |
