We got used Mimbo Pro on DBKP about 16 months ago and have been tweaking it ever since.

Latest version is here: http://deathby1000papercuts.com.

We have a few more items in various stages.

NOTE: The center 'blue boxes' used to balance with the sidebars, but we recently cut back to cut down on load time.

Thanks Mimbo Pro guys!

Would be good to get any feedback as am planning to develop a few other sites for them using this theme :-) MimboPro is great!

This is modified only slightly to included a two-tiered navigation structure (PixeoPoint Menu) and a Featured Posts scroller. It's a bit of a work in progress as the navigation may be restyled with a file tab look, but at least better separation. Also, we'd like to recover the breadcrumb navitation that was commented out in installing the above. We'd like to also have the carousel repeat on all pages as with the right side widgets.

Well, f1ezine.com is now suited with Mimbo Pro and a child theme. I haven't done anything much as the original colors and layout fits what we're doing - Official Formula One News.

The only custom work made or added is the Media Gallery (http://www.f1ezine.com/media-gallery).

Advanced plugins used: wp125, widgets-reloaded, sliding-panel, video-widget and kb-countdown-widget.

We still decided to create a child theme though, in order to seperate the framework from the 'presentation layer'. And so the child theme hold a function.php, style.css and relevant images.

Thanks Ben and Darren for a fantastic well coded and a very nicely ordered design.

wtd on "Qwowi.com Front Page Redesign"

I just rolled out some changes to the frontpage of Qwowi.com, and I'd be curious to hear what people think.

Qwowi is primarily a product review site, but when I purchased Mimbo I hadn't really given much thought to what a product review site would actually look like. What I've found over the last few months is that not only is my site not a traditional blog (which works out fine with Mimbo Pro's CMS features). I've also discovered that as we've added product categories we've fallen victim to what I call the Mimbo Pro center column sprawl (where the height of the center column greatly surpasses that of the sidebars).

My goal was to fit my categories on the front page, without dramatically increasing the vertical space of the page - and to still have some room to add 2 or 3 more categories over the next few months.

Admittedly I've had to make sacrifices (bye, bye sidebars), and it's not quite as stylish as Darren's original design. I've also lost the ability to control some things from the Mimbo options page (although I have more granular control as a result). It's obviously still very much Mimbo Pro though (with some inspiration from the original Mimbo).

I've got some ideas for tweaking a couple other layout options that I may try and implement after the holidays, but for now, it does what I need it to do.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Tony

The http://www.VeloResults.co.uk site is now live, covering cycle racing in Scotland and the Pro scene abroad, we have Interviews, Stories, Diaries...

It's not quite as flashy as some of the others here, and I ended up with colours that are similar to the theme defaults, but it's a vast improvement on the html - based site I had before... now we can post articles wherever we are in the world, just great (we're at the Giro d'Italia right now!)...

There's actually a ton of subtle changes in there (the child theme style.css is pretty long now), but we're getting congratulated on the site and it's "tidyness", as well as the ability to find articles quickly and easily.

With thanks to Darren and Ben for the theme, and for their great assistance all the way.

Hi there!

Ok... my site is pretty much done... well it's live anyway

http://www.independentfashionbloggers.org/

IFB is a network specifically for fashion bloggers.

Here, I integrated mimbo pro with elgg. So the users can search our posts and learn more about the fashion blogging niche and log into a social network to promote their own blogs and find other bloggers within their own niche.

It took some doing to get the two platforms to appear seamless... not totally there yet, but close enough for now. The main part I'm happy about is that the blog and network now have a lot more room to grow.

Thanks admin and darren for helping out in the forums... I'd definitely recommend using mimbo pro.

I've worked hard on your theme to adapt it for my needs. There is a lot of work to do, but I'm almost happy of this result:

http://www.lesenfantsterribles.org/

In the index I put more articles for every category, divided in 2 columns.

Every single category has a different header - all designed by me.

Now I'm translating everything in Italian and preparing a custom 404 error page.

Progress. Darren and Ben provide big time support, as do all the posters who share their ideas. Many thanks to everyone. Love the Mimbo Pro design.

The front end of the site is functionally done, and we have replicated the mimbo pro as a separate install in the password protected member area that resides in the back end.

I hired a webmaster who was affordable, did quality work, and kept the project moving. Highly recommended: http://www.zone7studios.com
